Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on June 2026.
We at Toki are working to make our site Toki (tokishopch.com) accessible to people with disabilities.
Standards we aim to follow
At Toki, we believe that everyone — regardless of ability — should be able to discover and enjoy Japanese craftsmanship. We are committed to making tokishopch.com as accessible as possible, including for visitors who rely on assistive technologies.
What we have done
We strive to align our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines describe how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, cognitive and neurological conditions.
To make our online shop more accessible, we have:
-
Built the site on Wix, which provides built-in accessibility features such as keyboard navigation and screen-reader compatibility.
-
Added descriptive alternative text (alt text) to product and informational images, so that users relying on screen readers can understand visual content.
-
Structured pages with clear headings and meaningful link text.
-
Chosen legible typography and maintained sufficient colour contrast between text and background.
-
Ensured that browsing the catalogue, adding items to the cart and completing checkout can be done with a keyboard alone.
Known limitations
Toki is a small, independently-run brand based in Switzerland. While we work to keep accessibility in mind, some areas of the site — in particular third-party widgets, embedded Instagram feeds, video content and downloadable PDF documents — may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are aware of these limitations and continue to improve the site step by step.
Compatibility with assistive technologies
Our website is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and with widely used screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS). If you find that a particular assistive tool does not work as expected, we would like to hear from you.
